This SMS Privacy Policy describes how Birdi (“Birdi”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with SMS communications sent from Birdi to its own users.
1. Purpose of SMS Communications
Birdi sends SMS messages only to users who have opted in to receive communications from Birdi. SMS messages from Birdi are strictly limited to transactional and service-related purposes, including:
- Account alerts
- Verification codes
- Payment reminders
- Service notifications
- Missed in-app notifications
Birdi does not send marketing or promotional messages via SMS.
2. Opt-In Consent
Users may choose to receive SMS messages from Birdi by providing their phone number and explicit consent through an opt-in form within the Birdi mobile application. Only users who have provided this explicit consent will receive SMS communications from Birdi.
3. Message Frequency and Rates
Message frequency varies based on user activity and account needs. Message and data rates may apply according to the user’s mobile carrier plan. Users can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any Birdi message. Users can request assistance at any time by replying HELP.
4. Use of Personal Information
Phone numbers and related information collected for SMS communications are used solely for the purpose of delivering Birdi service-related messages. Birdi does not use SMS communications for advertising, marketing, or promotional purposes.
5. No Sharing of SMS Consent Data
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We may share it with our telecommunications platform providers (e.g., Twilio) and Network Carriers (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) which provide the communications services we use for text messaging when requested for investigational purposes only. Birdi does not sell, rent, or share SMS opt-in data or phone numbers with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Data Security
Birdi takes reasonable measures to protect phone numbers and SMS-related information from unauthorized access or misuse. However, no transmission method or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Changes to This SMS Privacy Policy
Birdi may update this SMS Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued receipt of SMS messages after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
